Piccolo Mondo in Bad Toelz

We got to know the owner Jeff in his previous mini restaurant, Café Piccolo in Munich. He is a host with the highest demands on his dishes as a whole as well as on his ingredients in particular. He doesn't know convenience. He finds it difficult to delegate the responsibility of the preparation. That's why it sometimes takes a little longer for him. That hasn't changed in the new restaurant either. The wait is definitely worth it. The pizzas are a poem, the warm bruscetta with real porcini mushrooms are second to none. When it comes to the lettuce, he feels like cleaning each leaf individually. I used to take many acquaintances and friends to his restaurant, some of whom value good food. Nobody had ever said to me afterwards that I was exaggerating. But on the contrary. The negative reviews regarding his character are undignified. I once told a fresh takeaway owner in Austria about him in a conversation. Then he spontaneously decided to come to Munich with his family to pay Jeff a visit. He described the squid noodles as "mouth sex". Jeff didn't just cook for him, though. He even took him into his kitchen and, contrary to his kind, instructed him in a few secrets that he would normally "not even tell his mother". Ömer's eyes shone like those of a small child. Jeff has a rough looking shell at times. But if you show him the appreciation that he gives every guest with every dish without exception, you have got one of the best restaurants in Bad Tölz that one could wish for. I will be happy to come back to Bad Tölz with an appetite and time in my luggage. All the best Jeff, good luck and see you.

Super tasty restaurant with very friendly owners. Food was really good too. And thanks again for the surprise of the dessert, it was awesome :)

Great food! I ordered a salad with turkey strips and no savings were made. In addition, the staff and the owner are very friendly and accommodating people. The restaurant is very nicely decorated and, above all, clean. No matter what you order, it tastes great!

Since the beginning of August 2020, this store has a new owner, who prepares the dishes with care. We had a salad and personally asked for gluten free bread, the waitress thought along, this was no problem. We also had a delicious pasta (Penne) that was prepared in the oven. The chocolate dessert was also delicious. Other people had ordered pizzas, they looked very good too.

No matter what you order here, EVERYTHING TASTES VERY GOOD!

After we had waited an extra 15 minutes for a seat to become free and we were looking forward to a cocktail, the waitress told us that there were no cocktails or other alcoholic drinks at the moment (not Mal Hugo!) Because these were only prepared by the cook and he was currently in the kitchen is busy. When asked if there are still cocktails available today, she just said "I can't say". Not ok if you offer a cocktail menu.

Nice place to stay and enjoy! The restaurant has a very nice facility that invites you to linger. The menu is Italian, here the chef cooks himself and with much love. Thanks for that ! We would love to come back.

Well reading various reviews going by Bad tolz however I decided to stop and eat Italian at the small world cafe risto..well the service was excellent, and very friendly.I ate an excellent caprese and squid ink spaghetti that I enjoyed intensely.experience more than positive. I will be happy to return

We wanted to go out to eat on vacation and came looking for this very inviting place. It just doesn't get any better. Stayed three times in two weeks And it was always perfect. A big compliment also to the staff from the kitchen to the chef. The service staff is also of the finest quality. We always come back. The best spontaneous decision for us as a family. Real holiday feeling, at its finest :) Do not understand the previous comments. Kind regards to the great team and hope to see you soon :)

The owner of the cafe is incredibly rude! He had already had a café in Munich which I often visited. When visiting everyone, the service as well as the food was poor. (Especially the service) It is also worth mentioning that he locked himself in the restaurant with an elderly gentleman and beat him up for inexplicable reasons. The owner already had a shop in Munich. But he probably had to leave this one because he offended too many customers with his insulting and arrogant manner. If you clash with him, it will have consequences ...

We were quite spontaneous here because the outside area looked inviting. The location is pretty nice with the Isar and the bridge next to it. Unfortunately you get a lot of traffic because there is a busy street next to it. Otherwise the selection of drinks and dishes was okay, as well as the price. The pizzas were reasonable in size. I've eaten bigger ones, but you get full. The salad was really well presented. The big, big problem was the service. Very friendly in itself, but unfortunately very slowly. It really took a long time until we got the card, then until the food came and also until we could pay. The food was hot then, but why does a pizza take so long? Or the bill. The waitress apologized several times and said that there was so much going on. However, one has to say that because of Corona, guests could only be entertained outside and there were no tables occupied, nor were the tables fully occupied. The majority also only ordered drinks. As an excuse we were offered an espresso. In terms of ambience and food, the restaurant has earned a good four stars. The service was unfortunately not convincing. Otherwise the toilets were clean. Unfortunately, the entrance to the toilet rooms is quite narrow, as are the toilet cabins. Unfortunately, they are not barrier-free.

For our little one there was a small pasta dish for free, and although she walked around a lot in the restaurant, nobody complained. Very nice place with a lot of understanding for the little ones. Great, we can do this again!
